Airmid

The daughter of Dian Cecht, doctor of the Tuatha De Danann. Airmid is attributed the knowledge of all herbs.

When her brother Miach was killed by their father out of jealousy, 365 herbs sprang up on his grave. Airmid spread out her cloak and divided up the plants according to their property. Dian Cecht then threw her cloak up in the air so that no one would know the properties of the herbs "unless the Holy Spirit should teach them afterwards." However, he didn't murder his daughter, saying, "If Miach be not, Airmed shall remain."
