Cessair

The grandaughter of Noah and first settler of Ireland. She came to the island forty days before the flood, and brought with her fifty women and three men. Noah had told her that the flood may not reach this, the western-most known part of the world, and so they fled. The flood came anyway, and drowned Cessair, her father Bith, and their people. And Ireland remained a wasteland for three hundred years afterwards, according to the Lebor Gabála Érenn.
