Evergreen

Dark green holly boughs, heavy,
White snow mixed with red berry
Evergreen, but still deadly

Cardinals perch on washlines
Others nest in snowy pines
Evergreen in winter shines

Yew trees stand in hallowed groves
Silently snow falls in droves
Evergreen smell pricks my nose
